He grabs onto Glob and begins to fall back to Ooo. Glob turns on his eyebeams and spotlights Tiny. His eyes bulge as he leaves the atmosphere. He is talking to Tiny Manticore, who is high in the sky, wearing an oxygen tank and mask, with the other walkie-talkie strapped to his head. In a ruined, overgrown city, Normal Man talks into a walkie-talkie. Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games is a promising start to what we could see from our favorite animated shows in VR, and Everett said that Cartoon Network does hope to do more in the future.Normal Man asks for Finn and Jake's help to rescue his brother. Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games is already available for Gear VR, and will launch as the only children’s game for the HTC Vive in May. Every character is voiced by their corresponding show voice actor, so in addition to capturing the look of Ooo, Finn, Jake, and the hilarious Lumpy Space Princess sound just right. What also helped is that this iteration of Ooo feels true to the show.

This is a short experience at about 20 minutes, and the light story and jokes are fun enough to carry you through the game. You have your perspective, but control Finn and Jake to slash through angry sandwiches, gnomes, and smash hidden Magic Man Jack-in-the-Boxes. Though you are a character in the game, you’re not really controlling yourself.

They lovingly joked about my new floating ability and, occasionally, Jake would stretch his way up to me and ask questions. And even though I floated above the world, I never felt like I had been forgotten by Finn and Jake. As I floated around Ooo, I bump into cute bees and ladybugs that tumbled back in surprise. The perspective had a few cute touches, too. Having a wider perspective of the world below slowed down my movement and generally felt more comfortable than some of the other first-person games that put you at the center of the action. It took me a few minutes to adjust, as usual with VR, but it was an easy adjustment. Cartoon Network Digital producer Jacob Everett explained that Cartoon Network worked with Turbo Button to make sure that the movement in VR was easier on younger players. From there, the three of us went on an adventure through forests, icy mountain tops, and caves to hunt down the Magic Man and have him return me to my original form. Shortly after being spotted by Finn and Jake, I was cursed by the Magic Man and turned into a balloon. I put on the HTC Vive headset and found myself in some grass just far enough from Finn and Jake to feel like I was spying on them.

Magic man adventure time voice actor
